1). There are two basic types of fireplaces; they're known as Masonry and Manufactured. This is the first thing to determine about your fireplace, as our product line is
separated to follow these two categories.
- A Masonry fireplace (shown at right) is usually built in place by a mason using some kind of brick or stone.
- A Manufactured fireplace (shown at left) is a pre-built metal box that is installed in a desired location. It's possible for a manufactured fireplace to have a masonry
(stone, brick, etc.) facade, but the internal part will still be a metal box.
2). Determine the fireplace shape. Rectangle, Arch & Corner describe the fireplace opening shape. Fireplace openings are usually wider than they are
high; and width is usually the first dimension expressed. (i.e. 38" x 30" means 38" wide by 30" high)
